Ashes of Soldiers! As I muse, retrospective, murmuring a chant in thought, Lo! the war resumes - again to my sense your shapes, And again the advance of armies . . . While in the art world the term retrospective describes a substantial exhibit of an artist's oeuvre, Whitman's use is equally apt in the case of painter Ron Bitticks, whose retrospective exhibit is now on view at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design.
