It just ain't what it used to be
Been doing some digging at the Bureau of Labor Statistics site http://stats.bls.gov and came up with some sickening realities of todays America.
Consider that todays dollar is worth only $.16 of what the 1965 dollar was. As a matter of fact the only time in the last century that the dollar has remained strong was from 1920 until 1945, or the depression on through World War II. In 2004 America exported $1,117,900,000,000 and if you have a hard time reading all those zeros the first number is One TRILLION buck$. That same year we imported $1.719 trillion which means that America bought 601 billion dollars more than we sold to those other guys and only 138 billion of that was in oil imports. What's the overdraft fee from the United States Federal Reserve Bank lately?
