Buried In The Mind, But Never Within The Human Spirit
5-26-2019
Once uncorked, the bottle that contained “The Genie of The Atom” was forever shattered, and not even the genius of mankind’s greatest minds themselves, could ever again contain the explosive energy of nuclear fission! The date of this first actual foray into a world that could eventually blow mankind into “The Bowels of Hell Itself” was August 6th. 1945. And for the record, the explosion of such a devise was in no way predictable, and as a matter of fact, some of those who were intimately involved in its development even feared an uncontrollable chain reaction that would ultimately lead to the annihilation of “The Human Race?” Well, and as history will attest, we may have really lucked-out at that point in time! And again, and as a matter of scientific fact, countless numbers of nukes have been detonated by various nations in the nearly three-quarters of a century since we first rolled the big dice against “Old Mother Nature Herself (on the atomic level)!” And now it seems that nearly every damned fool alive has this power, and maybe even the will, to virtually wipe mankind clean off of the face of “This Planet!” Finally, after watching a television program about the sand-buried ruins of parts of “The Old Manhattan Project”, a project that was instrumental in our development of “The First A-Bombs”, I was surprised to learn that one of the most monumental events in human history is not even recognized with a marker over the site of its development, at least up until the time of the making of this documentary! As a matter of fact, most people probably do not even know that the area out around “The Salton Sea” might have even witnessed such a monumental event? “An event, I might add, that ushered in either the end of a new beginning, or the beginning of our final ending- “And Who, At This Point In Time, Can Really Say For Sure?” Hardcore
