Default Ruc Sack

I had about 10 of these things, Most of our guys would rig there front straps into one slip knot that they could pull and the thing would fall off, there water and ammo was carried not on the Ruc. I could not do that cause my radio was on the Ruc, so when we went to run away fast every one got 20 or so lbs lighter except me.
Anyway, the Ruc

In 66 there was this canvas device that was probably one of the most uncomfortable packs on the planet ( issue) .Being nomads the traders began finding a better pack .
We bought ,swapped or inherited a pretty good ruck with a flat metal frame. It was a smallish rucksack nothing like what the LRRPs or Recon used but they were an improvement . I suspect that they were Army gear issued to the ARVNs

We did use captured NVA rucks some and though frameless they weren't bad . Could always wad up a spare and shove it in one of the pockets.
