The Story

Presently researching book on the history of the 1/1 Cav (First Regiment of Dragoons) from its original deployment to Vietnam in August of '67 through the squadron's final standdown in May of '72. If you served with the Dragoons, please contact me to arrange an interview for the book.

For those that served in the 1/1 Cav, I would urge you to contact Nolan and arrange an interview, or forward your own personal story to him. Through some miraculous system, he contacted me via the VA while he was researching his Tet 68 book; I had just completed a writing project as a self-healing process, and that writing became a large part of one of the chapters in his book.

Nolan is a straight-shooter, being a dedicated historian, without the usual agenda or baggage.
