Exclamation Skeletons in Donalds Closet

Stay In The Closet
RE: http://www.rantpolitical.com/2015/07...in-the-closet/

Donald Trump is taking the Presidential race by storm so far. There is a lot of rhetoric coming from him and his camp but so far very little substance. He is different from other candidates in that he isn’t afraid to speak what is on his mind. That can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending. He has already gotten in trouble for his mouth, and it will happen again. Some actually see Trump as a legitimate candidate. Others see him as nothing more than a sideshow. Either way, there are some skeletons in Trump’s closet that he would prefer you forgot about or ignored entirely.

"He Once Said He Would Date His Daughter" Egads

Back in 2006 he made a comment about his daughter Ivanka, who was 24 at the time. He basically said if Ivanka wasn’t his daughter he would date her. It might have been a joke about his preference for younger women, but it was a little creepy and a bit disgusting. He probably wishes that one would go away.

Climate Change Was Created By Who?

Back in 2012, Trump tweeted that he believed climate change was created by the Chinese to suppress the American economy. That tweet is no longer on his timeline, but he said it. In 2014 he called global warming a hoax while appearing on Fox News. Most Americans do care about the environment, even if they aren't sold on climate change/global warming. However, Trump hasn't been a big advocate of keeping the environment clean.

Bankrupt Again and Again… Sort Of

He personally didn’t go bankrupt. He even took to Twitter to make that fact known. However, his corporations have filed for bankruptcy on four different occasions. To be fair, those bankruptcies were all Chapter 11 type which doesn’t mean Trump is bad at managing his finances. Rather, Chapter 11 allows a corporation to stay in business and restructure debt. All four were from over-leveraged casino and hotel properties in Atlantic City.

He Once Wanted To Tax the Rich

He was once in full support of increased taxes on the rich. Now he wants to cut taxes for them. In 1999 he proposed a wealth tax, a one-time 14.25 percent tax on fortunes over $10 million.

Gun Control

Trump says he is very much in favor of the Second Amendment. He carries himself. However, he has been in favor of an assault weapons ban. He also is wishy-washy when it comes to background checks. He wants to revamp the system but has been vague on how.

Flip-Flops - He Has Belonged To Many Political Parties

When you are seeking the nomination of a particular party it probably isn’t the best thing to have once registered to vote under your opponent’s party. Trump quit the Republican Party in 1999 and then joined the Reform Party. In 2001 he registered as a Democrat. He didn’t switch back until 2009. Then, two years later he registered as an Independent.

The Clintons Were His Wedding Guests

In 2005, when Trump was marrying Melania Knaus, he had the Clintons as wedding guests. That probably isn’t the best thing considering he might be running against Hillary Clinton.

He Donated A Lot of Money To Democrats In 2006

He gave a total of $26,000 to the Democrat House and Senate campaign committees. Those Representatives and Senators that were elected in 2006 were responsible for many of the policies he now despises, or says he does. Of course he was a Democrat back then.

He Loves and Hates Unions

Trump has a mixed record when it comes to unions. Since he is in real estate and the like he has to be on good terms with real estate unions. However, he hates the teacher’s unions and is mixed on all things unions despite the fact he is a union member himself with the Screen Actor’s Guild.

Trump/Winfrey?

He believes Oprah Winfrey would make a fantastic running mate. He thinks that ticket would be unbeatable. Winfrey is a big Democrat supporter, and judging by her stances on more than a few issues it would be a contentious ticket at best. He probably doesn’t want that to be a public thing, especially since he is considered a favorite according to early polls. Nothing like having two people who star on television making government decisions. Only in America.

Pay Veterans Millions While Reducing the Deficit?

Trump has gone on record saying that veterans should be paid anywhere between $2 million and $5 million for their service. Not sure how he would do that while paying down the debt which he says is a top priority, yet he wants to cut taxes as well. Maybe he will have the government file for Chapter 11 to get out from under its debts.

Healthcare Issues

He doesn’t like Obamacare, aka the Affordable Care Act. He has said he would repeal it. However, he has been on the record saying he favors a single-payer system. Trump wrote in one of his books, ‘The America We Deserve’ that the system should be revamped while a single-payer plan was developed. Now he is against the healthcare overhaul, but he has yet to say what he will replace it with in comprehensive terms.

He Has An Odd Take On Oil and How To Get It
He has stated in the past that the United States has the right to take the oil from any Middle Eastern country that refuses to sell to us at a fair market price. I guess he hasn’t learned about free markets and sovereignty. Would he invade or take by force, thereby putting American lives on the line for cheap oil?

He Lacks An Understanding of Military Matters

He doesn’t understand what American troops are still doing in South Korea. He also thinks we aren’t paid for that by South Korea. The fact is our troops are there because the Korean War isn’t really over and South Korea spends $700 million a year on their being there.

He Isn’t Sure About His Own Wealth

He has been caught lying about, or exaggerating, his worth. Most estimates have it around $2.7 billion. Trump has claimed more than double that before retracting it. He has never opened up his finances, but if he secures the nomination he will have to.

Divorces

Trump has been divorced three times. While that isn't perfectly unusual these days in America it does look bad. Opponents will surely bring up this fact during the campaign. Trump, I'm sure, would rather not talk about it.

Let's face it - none of them are Angle'. Each has a closet full of whatever!
