Let's talk about some of our favorite comedies and cartoons we watched as kids. Can you remember any?

I loved watching "That Girl" staring Margo Tomas. As a little girl, my sister and I, having long hair, would flip our hair forward and backward and then shaking it all about like "That Girl". LOL!!


One of my favorite kids shows was "Puff N Stuff". Witchie Poo and Puff n Stuff were two of the main characters. I don't remember the flutes name. I think the boys name was Jimmy. It was exciting to watch them all in their costumes running from the mean old Witchie Poo.

Do you all remember the cartoon Go Speed Racer Go?

Comedies= red skelton, jackie gleason, laurl& hardie. howdy doody. Now for cartoons daffy duck ,yosemity sam, road runner were some of my favorites

How about going way back...Kukla Fran & Ollie. I think that was pre Howdy-Doodywith Buffalo Bob andPrinces Summer-Fall-Winter-Spring. Of course we could go backeven further to the infamous Betty Boop. I thinkI stillhave a picture of a WWII plane with a stencil of Betty on the nose.

Here's a link to a site that plays old time radio 24 hours a day. Fibber Mcgee, The Shadow, Green Hornet, Jack Benny, Burns & Allen----most ofthe programs that were broadcast from the middle 30's to the middle 50's are played all day and nite, 7 days a week. If you are on C-band satellite you can get it on G5 chan 7 audio 6.80 narrow.

If you wantto, youcan listen to old time radio in the background while you bump around the Patriot Files. Good clean wholesome family entertainment for free.Here'sthe web link...

Favorite comedy....The Honeymooners.
Favorite cartoons.... Mighty Mouse and Beenie & Cecil.
I remember Kukla, Fran and Ollie, but those puppets gave me nightmares. As did Farfel, the dog on the Nestle Quick commercials.

To me Lucy and the THREE STOOGES are the best.

I remember laying on the floor in front of the radio, listening to all those old shows. Just like the kids in front of the TV now except we all had our own idea as to what the Green Hornet or the The Shadow looked like.

How about Gang Busters, Sky King, the Lone Ranger, Woody Woodpecker, Bugs Bunny, Milton Berle, Sid Caeser, The Hit Parade, Captain Kangaroo, Arthur Godfrey, Jack Benny & Rochester, Amos n' Andy?

Yeah Drywall, radio was like a "Theatre of the Mind". ....Wonder ifit stimulated the gray matter more than TV does. :cd:

Oh sure, I remember the first one when my Ma got our first TV. I was but a tyke at the time but first impressions being the most unforgettable, I distinctly recall the Buster Brown Show, the Dog Tyge and of course the unforgettable and the then world famous ?Frogie?- at least I thought so. Quite naturally I just had to have a pair of Buster Brown boots so I was the ?perfect child? until I laid my hands on them boots. Then perhaps I wasn?t so perfect anymore, maybe. But then, ya know how that goes.

As well, I recall spending a lot of time looking in the back of the TV to see if I could spot the people that, in my mind, were somewhere cleverly hidden in the TV set. I mean all them electronic do-dads looked like miniature city to me and them red-glowing vacuum tubes were where the people hung out, of course.
