Outdoor Christmas Lights
Most people here in Northwest Florida do some kind of decorating to their homes at Christmas.
Sometimes it's pretty simple...just a string of lights around the eaves. Most people do a little more...eaves and windows and maybe something in the yard. A few go all out...and the result is pretty awesome. Do you folks out there in the other parts of our fine country put up outdoor lights for Christmas? |

When I was little, we decorated our inside tree with bubble lights.
Do ya'll remember those? I remember sitting in the dark with just the tree lit and watching the bubble lights. I haven't seen them in many years. I wonder if they still make them. |

Some of these Homes would make great "Christmas Card" Pictures Around here in SE Georgia a lot of folks hang them electric ice sickle lights and leave them up all year round so they can celebrate all the Holidays with lights A few of our neighbors put up some nice Christmas Displays here also. The Inflateable Snow Globes are very popular this season if you can't have real snow have a snow globe on your lawn (LOL)

People will go 'all out' in any aspect of there lives. The ones that gain from this are retailers and the electric company.
Christmas spirit is fine but to light up the neighbor hood ,I think,is saying something about the person behind the door. But we do live in the United States so , being out spoken, outrageous, Bling Bling or whatever you want to call it is what we do. I never was much of a put up decorations kinda guy so these houses , although they look OK, I guess, represent a lot of work, to me. There are people that even have web cams on the property to show there lights to whoever. You want to see real Stupidity look at Houston's "Art Car" parade every year. Or any Mardi Gras. Ron |
