"Due to mail delivery problems, the AMERICAN BATTLEFIELD PROTECTION PROGRAM is extending the dealline for 2004 BATTLEFIELD GRANT APPLICATIONS. Applications must be received by 4PM on January 30. It is recommended that applications be sent by express mail; applications sent via the U.S. Postal Service must be postmarked by Jan. 23. Federal agencies; tribal, state, and local governments; educational institutions; and nonprofit historical preservation organizations are invited to submit their projects or apply for funding that lead to the identification, preservation, and interpretation of battlefield land and/or their associated properties.
