Trying to decide on the Campout:
Earlier I was told to get on Route #75 and drive North. There is a Route #75 in Florida. The Florida Turnpike turns into Route #75 and I was wondering if the Route #75 that I was earlier told about in Georgia is the same route that runs in Florida and becomes the Florida Turnpike as you drive South.
If it is--Can anybody give me an approximate mileage from Clermont, Florida to the Camp out in Georgia? Also directions after I get off of Route #75 would also be helpful as I get lost very easily. What are the dates of the Camp out? My Wife and I are planning to return to Massachusetts the first week of May 2006 and I would not want to commit myself and then have a scheduling problem. I would very much like to attend the Camp out but directions, and the fear of being an outsider, because of my REMF Vietnam Status, forces me to be noncommittal at this point. Even if I don't attend in person though--I will be with you guys IN SPIRIT. Bless you all!! According to mapquest, its 498 miles. I-75 does run through Florida and does connect with the Florida turnpike. You should make it a stopover on your trip back north. The dates are April 26, 27, 28, 29, Sid would be the one to give you the directions to Ellijay. Most of us have cell phones, so all ya gotta do is get close and we'll come and get you......There's no such thing as an outsider on the mountain. Bob K
