Default Nissan

4 of consumer reports Worst vehicles were Nissan built in Mississippi. I guess its not the vehicle but where it's built.
You Mississippi boys maybe need to take a couple steps up the quality control ladder.
But then , I think Jap cars suck anyway so I would say keep building them that way.

Poor Ron, My 1989 Nissan Maxima has over 110,000 and is still running strong. Only major problem is the electrical system for the power windows. On rainy days they have a mind of their own, some open, some don't, some will not go back up and others will. Try as I might and having replaced quite a few parts in this system I just can't always get them to work. It's been a problem since the car was new in 89! ABS brake parts cost plenty for this model. But over all the car has been great!

Spell check was used.

Poor Ron?
I could care less about Nissan, Jap cars suck. I think they should keep making them just as they are. Your problems only enforce my opinion. And, your problem isn't a part , its a hot wire going to ground when wet.
Poor SparrowHawk62 , Just what interest do I have in Nissan or Consumer reports, I just reported what Consumer reports did about Nissan, Oh yea, Consumer reports is a magazine.
ps. theres more Ford F series pickups on the road with 250,000 miles or more, Than other make including Jap, crap.

Nope that's not the problem, but thanks for the suggestion. There is no drain on the battery when the car is soaking wet.
All connections are water tight by use of dielectric grease, shrink wrap and in some cases both. It's the little jap they hid inside the car that does the mischief!!

By the way I like the Ford F-series pickup trucks. One day, but no time soon I'd like to park a F-250 4x4 in my driveway.

No Drain on the battery, How would you know that? because someone told you that?

Hear is the test. when the vehicle is wet, and the window is operating erratically, put the positive test wire of a test light on the Frame and the negative test light wire on the negative post of the battery. If the test light comes on there is a hot wire to ground somewhere.

Or do what ever you wish.

My 1991 FORD F150 4x4 has 237,000 miles on it and its still going strong. except I don't need a key to start it anymore and I have to hold the right turn signal up for it to work. it dosen't really bother me so I probably won.t pay to get it fixed.

..an American car, or truck, you can jack up the radiator cap, and replace everything else yourself,...

..with the "other" models on the market, their designed obsolescence makes them last long enough for the last payment to clear your account, or the first owner trades it, and then comes the avalanche,...

...How many times have I heard , "It's gonna cost how much to fix it", or $300.00 for a starter, etc, yep the 2nd/ 3rd owner blues, cause dey always get you in the end, usually the back end,...

Ron, maybe my electrical skills are too inept to figure out a simple 12 volt system?
With the system on, (ignition turned car not running) on and pressing the buttons for the windows shows a draw, ie the current causes the voltage to drop. With out pushing the buttons for the windows the voltage stays steady.
Mind you all wiring has been insulated, all connections cleaned, rubber washers used in all situations where any of the switches, motors, actuators are mounted to metal.
There is no stray electrical current to the body of the car, the cars doors, window frames, etc. A method such as the one you stated has been used.
Sure do wish you lived next door so you could come over and help me with this problem, but keep making suggestions, maybe there's something I have over looked in all the years I've been dealing with this problem.
