An additional thought. The Library of Congress has a veterans' oral history project. Contact them and they will send you a blank tape and instructions.

Doc
Doc, If you recall a true Vietnamese has no hair below the neck. OK, maybe a cat's eyebrow but no more than that. You have facial hair, hair on your arms. I know Vietnamese, and your no Vietnamese. Besides, medics can be great to see but only if your bleeding.
Bob, actually I got it for free all the time while in my last unit in Saigon; didn't I tell you that story? Yossarian, will the library of congress send more than one tape? Stay healthy, I didn't, Andy |

Andy....Freebies dont count. she was just looking for a free ride back to the world.
Sn-n3, The judges have stripped Andy of his prize an awarded it to you. To collect your winnings, report to Psyco mtn on April 21 where you will be given a police escort to the Outhouse saloon along with a few free drinks CONGRATS. Doc I tried telling that lady about my oral history.....She hung up on me. Bob K

Back on the thread subject
Several years ago after my Mother passed we were going thru some boxes and found one box that contained letters, pictures and stuff that my Brother and I had sent home from VN. Three prizes were my Green Beret with my SOG patch sewn inside and my brothers going away plaque from his unit the 5th Marine Recon Bn and some old Plank photos of our Dad and crew when they commissioned the USS Marshall DD676. I wrote the dept of the Navy and got the History of the Marshall along with its picture and we put together a large frame of all his medals with the history, official photos and plank photos of the Marshall. Had 3 sets made for me, my sister and brother Our sister got all of his original medals and Ray and I got the replicas. Next we had mine done and this year we are having my Brothers done. Later we Xeroxed my SOG patch and my brothers recon patch and DMZ-LTs recon patch and we went to a tatto parlor and had them tattoed on our shoulders.
