Actually, a coyote hereabouts, can be defined as an individual that traffics in human bodies! One who, for a fee (about $1500 each), transports Mexicans (etc) across our International Border to be used as low-priced laborers on farms, ranches, mills etc.

Our borders, once virtual sieves, see far more northbound traffic (illegals) than south (tourists)! And as a matter of fact, 4 out of every 10 illegals (it is said) cross through Arizona where the terrain is far more amenable to survival than thru the often-harsh mountains to the west!

Phoenix, the Arizona Capitol, is fast becoming a Mecca for illegal immigration, and ?Drop Houses? in that City accommodate some 50 to 100 illegals at a time! And believe it or not, this (near) slave trade is also fostering an atmosphere of violence, right here on our side of the border. This includes a recent shoot out along Interstate 10, a trucker route and main artery (east and west), as well as the execution style murders recently (by coyotes) of about 9 illegals yearning to breath free!

A new approach to this problem has just been initiated (Operation Ice Storm). This operation entails the deployment of an additional 50 Border Patrol Agents and a chopper to the region, and this in theory (it is hoped) will help to stem this ?Trail of Violence and Tears!??

The problem, however, (in my opinion) goes far deeper than the desire of these illegals to attain a better way of life, as $1500 to most of these people is a small fortune! The problem, as I see it, is the attitude of our political friends to the south, as well as the misplaced acts of zealots on our side of the border! In the middle of this quagmire, resides our brave and dedicated Border Patrol!

Now when you blend this ?Accident Waiting To Happen? with government apathy, you arrive at a fatal brew, one in which we now learn that the inherent violence associated with greed and some bureaucratic blindness, can be (and is) often fatal!
