Talking Bless my friend

Guys and gals you all know the fear of going to the VA for the first time. Well my good friend George crawled out of his bunker for the first time in along time today and we went out to the American Lake Veterans Hospital and got George signed up and a quick checkup.. They perscribed some blood pressure meds and put him on the fast track to get him a primary provider. George is a 9th infantry vietnam vet. Who like so many others has been deathly afraid of the VA system. His words to me were something like " My dad said stay away from those guys at the VA they'll kill ya." then he told me his thoughts about the VA hospital being just like the Hospital in ONE FLEW OVER THE KOOKOO's NEST.. I'am happy to say he is very very pleased and has started the ball rolling for himself. I walked him through the whole ordeal and he could not believe how nice everybody there was. and to top it all off he seen one of his neighbors that he didn't know was being treated there so now he dosen't feel like an out cast or looser. He was so afraid that the VA would think he was begging. But now he knows he earned his rights and treatment with his service to our country.

Thumbs up CHRIS

The best of luck to George, and he's fortunate to have such a good friend as you.

Default VA and getting old

Two things I have been for ever sence I can remember,
1, when a person turns 60 there medical bills are paid in full by all citizens of the country for the rest of there life, They built the country, now let the contry help them.
2. When a veteran with an honorable discharge turns 50 there medical bills are paid in full by all citizens, They protected this country now let the country help them.
2 1/2. Disabled vets go to the front of the line, any line.

Post I hate to say this:

I hate to say this but:

The private sector has demonstrated they cannot keep medical expenses under control.

As a conservative I hate to say this because the private sector has gone way over board for medical expenses. If you are poor the government takes care of you. If you are of means then you can take care of yourself. But those of us in the lower half of the middle income are getting killed.

Its time for a national insurance program. Veterans and especially disabled vets should be first in line.

Hey guys I did nothing that any friend would't do. I'm just sorry it took him so long to come out of his bunker, He lost his job at Boeing after 28 years because of incompatent private sector Doctors that can't tell PTSD from depression. he had bad attendance and no one asked him why. Now the Union and the VA will be on his side.

Post Chris,

Chris,

The medical community is loaded with greed from the drug companies, insurance companies, and medical equipment suppliers, to even the doctors and nurses themselves.

And, we have to put up with it because our lives depend upon it.
