Obama salutes veterans for 'extraordinary burden' (AP)

AP - Recalling "those awful attacks," President Barack Obama saluted the 9/11 generation of veterans Tuesday and publicly relished the prospect of U.S. forces getting out of both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Salutes the veterans that he's not amoung and in the mean time says that American forces will be out of war with the Taliban by the end of the year. Didn't we tell the North Vietnamese the same thing in the early '70's and give the Democratic Republic of South Vietnam to the VC and NVA?
Why did we not fight an offensive war and beat the Taliban into oblivion instead of telling them that by the end of the year we're going to turn the keys over to them.
Can they now leave Afghanistan freely and go into Pakistan and get their nuclear weapons to use against any opposition? Who's going to stop them?
We fought a "defensive war and lost instead of an offensive war and beat the opposing team.

What's my point? Even children understand evil when they see it and know we can't walk away pretending the bully on the block has been defeated.
