Default Thanks John

I still break out laughing when I remember how funny you thought the Hue/Way thing was. I'm glad I bought the radio at the big PX in Danang even thought the gooks/Vietnamise stold it from me a few months later.

Default Ace of Spades Gun Truck

This replica was at the Crossville, TN Vietnam Veterans Reunion. A guy spent $50,000 of his own money to restore this. I thought I remembered this truck from one of my two convoys in Vietnam. I asked some of the guys from my company and they remembered it too. We convoyed from Camp Evans to Phu Bai in Oct 68. I go to talk to the restorer-he lives about 30 miles from here. I told him I thought I remembered the truck but I thought it had a quad .50. He said it never had that so I guess it was on the convoy form Saigon To Quan Loi I was on. It was amazing to stand beside a gun truck after all these years.

For some reason the little town of Rogersville, TN has two of the most amazing machines I have seen lately. You have seen the Ace of Spades, here is the other one:

Did you see the 15th Med Door Gunner response on the Med-evac thread? I PM'd him but no response.

I went to a combined Army Trans and Gun Truck reunion at New Port News in 2006. There were 2 Gun truck replicas there. The Ace of Spades didn't make it that time but I think he probably belongs to their assiociation. [I can't find their website.] The only truck that was brought back from Vietnam [I've read] is the Eve Of Distruction on display in the museum at Ft Hustus.
