Missed this somehow....gittin' old.
Gimpy was a Riverine with the 9th Division. Had a buddy who was Brown Water Navy....he died of a heart attack a few years back. Nate Hollister was his name. Just a chance you knew him. Pack

KSK we used to have Swifts and PBRs come up to our Destroyer and trade cool junk for Ice Cream lots of suvineers but the officer got most of it.

Did not know Nate. Ran a few missions with the 9th.Most were pretty hairy. Those guys had there stuff together.

Went out to the destroyers every chance we got [not many] to get ice cream,candy, cokes.Those guys loved to trade. Your right about the suvineers,most went to officers.I have to admit, a lot of the stuff we traded we got from markets and were of little value.We would tell them we took off of charlie and they would eat that stuff up.
