(New York, N.Y.) – Recent U.S. intelligence indicates that Russia is currently working to recruit Syrian fighters to support their military campaign in seizing control of Kyiv and Kharkiv in Ukraine. According to media reports, Russia has offered to pay Syrian fighters—many of whom possess expertise in urban combat—between $200 and $300 a month to serve in roles such as guards and recruit mercenaries for a six-month period. The introduction of Syrian foreign fighters could potentially further escalate violence in Ukraine and heighten the global threat of violence-oriented extremists with combat experience.

As Russia internationalizes its recruitment efforts, individuals, such as violence-oriented extremists, could also be prompted to join Russia’s offensive. According to the Counter Extremism Project (CEP)’s latest policy brief, Foreign Fighters in the 2022 Russia-Ukraine War: An Initial Assessment of Extremist Volunteers, foreign fighters’ ability to plan and successfully carry out attacks in accordance with their ideology increases massively with the benefit of combat experience. Attempts to send fighters, including Syrians, to strengthen the Russian offensive in Ukraine should be closely monitored.

CEP’s policy brief explains that while violence-oriented foreign extremists represent the smallest fraction of those traveling to take part in the conflict, they pose a clear security risk. For instance, Russia receives support from extremists including the Slovak Conscripts, Hungarian National Front, and Nordic Resistance Movement. If individuals from those groups obtain combat experience in the conflict zone, they will potentially have a greater impact in promoting violent extremist agendas in their home countries upon their return.

Personal note: After Reading this post above - what does it tell you? To me it seems
Mother Russia's armed forces do not want to kill friends and family. So what's Putin to
do - other then lead his troops into battle - or high killer's from neighborning countries.
Now this is an issue that the Russian's themselves have to resolve.

There's no way in hell that the majority of Russian's want to kill innocent folks
just because Putin says so.

You can fix this by taking him out - putting in someone who hasn't carried all his or
her baggage into this attack. Highered killer's and assassins from other countries to
come in and butcher and destroy Ukraine - has got to be dealt with by the internal
Russian People.

This a personal Putin process - of which should never have been allowed to be made.
He's leading your country down the road - to butcher and kill - just because he says so!
There is something wrong with statement coming from him. It's time you remove him
and get someone else whose more of a diplomat - then a killer of women and children.

I'm greatly surprised to see Russian Citizen's & the Military condoning these actions -
and it must be stopped - even if Putin has to be taken out. He's not a Leader he's
killer of men - women and kids - and for what?

What's the real reason behind his motives? Does anyone know?. You've got to get back
to some reality - that slaughtering innocent family and friends is not incorporated into
your history.

Nobody I know is after Russia - so why so much brutality to your neighbors? I can't
believe all Russian's accept his motives and actions against these countries.
Is he that insecure to believe that other nations want to invade Russia?

Step up - take his ass out - and get a ruler who will work together with your people
and your neighbors. He's old school and very insecure in his mind.

He's also bitter and revengeful still living in the past. Revenge is all he thinks about
- as well as his kiss ass buddies - they to should be worried - as they will now become
accessories to these actions. When their caught - it will just be a little more work for
the hangman.

For the record I don't hate Russian's. We American's have our own problems and yes it
takes time to resolved those issues. But waring on our neighbor's isn't going to make
things better - only inserting revenge - compounds the problems. Hurting women and
children and old folks - doesn't make you a hero - rather a killer of innocents.

Think about it - you will dream about those issues your remaining days - on how you
slaughtered innocent folks for no reason at all.
