Default Help with Uniform ID on Oil Painting

I have a Huge oil Painting 8' x 4' or so of a soldier, which I bought years ago at a auction. Problem is that no one seemed to know anything about the Country or time date of the uniform. Best guess is WW1 Italian, but not sure.

As a new poster on this forum I am blocked from putting the URL of "Tiny Pics" where I have the pictures stored. If you can help with an ID please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

If I could see it properly, might be able to ID.

Look here (about 429,000 images w/ID):

Okay, here is a period Italian Cavalry Corporal's tunic - pretty close to your example:

Arrow The ribbon

I can't be sure of the RH ribbon colors in the painting, but based on the number of verticle stripes, assuming this is Italian, then one ribbon may be Italian East Africa campaign:

They had few ribbons (as was the period norm), but of the ones they had only 2 had 5 stripes, and both were for East Africa. The other variant is blue with black stripes.

Hope this might help...

Not sure of the year as the description says the ribbons run from early 20th century to WWII
