Tommy
My friend Tommy called me . I have known Tommy for38 years. When I was leaving Bitnam Tommy was just getting there. He says the look in my eyes when we met up in Danang still scares him today. Tommy was told his PSA levels were very high and he has to have more tests. Sis reminded me that he should contact the VA concerning this since it is AO related. I called Tommy back and told him and he cried cause he was worried about leaving his son with nothing. Thank all of you here for helping get this info to Tommy. We looked out for each other there and we are still doing it today. Thanks again. Welcome Home

Tommy has definately got himself a service connection there.Have a Bro out here that just had his prostate removed-totally at the VA`s expense.My understanding is that if they have caught it early,with slightly elevated PSA counts for example,the surgery does not have to be too radical,and a feller can maintain all,or most functions.Fred can more than likely shine more light on this.Get Tommy to the VA,ASAP.
Please..all of you that are 50+,get the finger wave yearly! Prayers out to Tommy.

PSA
It can be high without prostate cancer. Truckers sit on thier prostates for many hours a day. It can cause elevation of PSA. They usually need the TURP anyway just so they can pee. ALL men get prostate problems if they live long enough.

Radical Prosectomy a LAST RESORT!
Prostate cancer caught early these days is highly cureable....BUT HE NEEDS TO GET AT LEAST ONE MORE OPINION! Many urologists will find your prostate a little enlarged and want to hack it out immediately. They get paid to do surgery. Have Tommy see an Oncologist who specializes in prostate cancer and talk to him about different methods if and I say IF he needs this done. They have radioactive seeds they can plant in you and the side effects are much less. You can usually still have sex and you won't be dripping and needing a diaper. HAVE HIM SHOP AROUND.
Also, to all of you guys. You need to be taking Saw Palmetto and Lycopenes EVERY DAY. The Saw Palmetto needs to be in a liquid NOT THE POWDER. Liquid, like in gel cap type. Also Vitimin E. But you need ALL THREE. As some of you know, my father was a victim of Prostate Cancer and one of the worlds leading Oncologist and specialist in Prostate Cancer is my "little brother". Lt. I will give you Greg's office number, if Tommy wants it, after he gets some opinions and a firm diagnosis. Greg helps anyone who is a friend of mine. Greg's also been doing studies for the VA and his findings for us on PCancer....ain't good. Keep me posted on what's up with Tommy. Packo
