Fear now rules supreme within some politi-military segments of the Middle East, as well it should! The ?Glass-House Mentality? of certain elements within that region are beginning to quiver under the strain of their own corruption and divisiveness!
Apparently, President Bush?s promise to eliminate terror at it?s source, and thereby weaken it?s ability to transcend distance, is causing no end of concern amidst those with the most to fear (i.e. direct involvement)! And not since the days of the Barbary Pirates, two centuries ago, has a nation (This Nation) made terrorism, fear as a weapon, and social extortion, the targets of our righteous retaliation!
This fear, however, is a strange one indeed, as it reminds me of the proverbial school of piranha! When not attacking what they consider to be a easy target in numbers, as some within the Middle East have in the past, they hide and cower (even from each other) under some murky river bank, for fear of being eaten alive by their own kind! Nowadays, however, the predator itself seeks the protection of it?s intended prey, and then when the danger passes, again joins in on the hunt, even if it?s former protector(s) are on the nightly menu!?
So how do you deal with this nefarious critter? Do you placate it, be eternally at its beck and call (militarily and monetarily), ignore the bastard, or strike it down for good and all? ?But don?t ask the United Nations, as they have absolutely no idea where to begin!?
