The program is designed to meet federal requirements for nutritionally-balanced meals and offer free or reduced-price meals to eligible children. A regular-priced lunch costs $2.05 for elementary students and $2.20 for secondary students. A reduced-price lunch costs 40 cents. Eligibility is based on household income and size. The program is available to children from all military branches attending Department of Defense Dependents Schools. A family that is non-eligible at the start of the school year may reapply as their qualifying factors change, such as decrease in household income, increase in household size or unemployment. To enroll in the Free or Reduced School Lunch Program, servicemembers must complete an application, USAFE Form 400, and submit it to the school liaison office with a copy of their most recent Leave and Earnings Statement (and spouse's if applicable). There is a limit of one application per household. The application form can be obtained at the school liaison office located in Building 977, Room 233/234, or email 48msg.ccl@lakenheath.af.mil for an electronic copy. from the 48th Mission Support Group School Liaison Office More... |
