Congress, and the American Public should know all these facts.

The Macabees did rule Israel for a short period between Greek Rule and Roman Rule and that was left out.

But, these facts need to be taught to the Congress, the Public School Children, etc.

The PLO is nothing more than a vicious bunch of thugs trying to Eliminate the Jewish People. They are just as bad or worse than Hitler.

If it wasn't for Germany and its treatment of the Jews there would be no Israel. And now Germany is critizing Israel's struggle to maintain themselves as a nation. What a disgusting bunch of people . . . . . its just Anti-Semitism again.

I agree everyone should be taught these facts.

The Maccabees aren't mentioned because they were Jewish.

They revolted against the Seleucid rulers that was a dynasty formed following the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BC and the breakup of the Greek Empire.


Maccabbe is the Jewish word for "hammer." They are better known as Hasmoneans.

The group was formed by a Jewish priest named Mattathias and his 5 sons. The Jews rose up behind them and overthrew their foreign rulers. (Again.)

Mattathias was ordered by a Seleucid general, commanded by Antiochus, to make a sacrifice to the pagan Greek gods and refute monotheism. He refused and killed the general.
Like other rulers before him, Antiochus underestimated the will and strength of his Jewish adversaries and sent a small force to put down the rebellion. When that was annihilated, he led a more powerful army into battle only to be defeated. In 164 B.C Jerusalem was recaptured by the Maccabees and the Temple purified, an event that gave birth to the holiday of Chanukah.
It took more than two decades of fighting before the Maccabees forced the Seleucids to retreat from Palestine. By this time Antiochus had died and his successor agreed to the Jews' demand for independence. In the year 142 B.C., after more than 500 years of subjugation, the Jews were again masters of their own fate.

The biggest lie ever perpetrated in the mid east.

There has never been a civilization or a nation referred to as "Palestine" and the very notion of a "Palestinian Arab nation" having ancient attachments to the Holy Land going back to time immemorial is one of the biggest hoaxes ever perpetrated upon the world!

There is not, nor has there ever been, a distinct "Palestinian" culture or language. Further, there has never been a Palestinian state governed BY Arab Palestinians in history, nor was there ever a serious Arab-Palestinian national movement until 1964... three years BEFORE the Arabs of "Palestine" lost the West Bank [Judea and Samaria] and Gaza as a result of the 1967 Six-Day War (which the Arabs started).

Even the so-called leader of the "Palestinian" people, Yasser Arafat, is EGYPTIAN! In short, the so-called Arab "Palestinians" are a manufactured people...a people with no history and no authenticity... whose sole purpose for existence is to destroy the Jewish State!

Israel first became a nation in 1312B.C.E., two thousand years before the rise of Islam! Seven hundred and twenty-six years later in 586 B.C. these first ancient Jews in the Land of Israel [Judea] were overrun and its First Jewish Temple (on Jerusalem's Old City Temple Mount) was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar, king of ancient Babylon.
Many of the Jews were killed or expelled; however many were allowed to remain. These Jews along with their progeny and other Jews who would resettle over the next 500 years, rebuilt the Nation of Israel and also a Second Temple in Jerusalem upon the Temple Mount. Thus the claim that Jews suddenly appeared fifty years ago right after the Holocaust and drove out the Arabs is preposterous!

Then in 70 A.D. (nearly 2000 years ago), it was the Roman Empire's turn to march through ancient Israel and destroy the SECOND Jewish Temple, slaughtering or driving out much of its Jewish population. Many Jews left on their own because conditions for life were made unbearable in many respects... yet thousands upon thousands stayed and rebelled on for centuries in order to once again rebuilt a Jewish Nation in this Holy Land.

Over 3250 years, various Peoples, Religions and Empires marched through Jerusalem, Israel's ancient capital. The region was successively ruled by the Hebrews [Jews], Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Maccabeans, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Egyptians, the Crusaders, Mamelukes, the Turks (who indifferently governed the backward, neglected territory from the 16th century until the British drove them out during World War I) and then once again by the Jews in 1948. None bothered, nor were they in the least bit inclined, to build a Nation of their own... EXCEPT the Jews!

It must be noted that in 636 A.D., when the Arabs marauders came to the land and uprooted even more of its Jews, they did not form any Arab nation there... and certainly not a "Palestinian" nation. They were simply "Arabs" who, as did others before them, moved into a geo-political area called "Palestine!" And remember this one fact... it was not the Jews who "usurped" (a favorite word from the Arab propagandists) the land from the Arabs. If anything, it was the Arabs in 636A.D. who overran and stole it from the Jews!

No nation, other than the ancient nation of Israel and later again in 1948 with the rebirth of the 2nd Nation of Israel, has ever ruled as a sovereign national entity on this land. A mighty Jewish empire extended over this entire area before the Arabs and their Islam were even born! The Jewish People have one of the most legitimate Birth Certificates of any nations in the world.

Every time there is an archaeological dig in Israel, it does nothing but support the fact that the Jewish People have had a presence there for well over 3,000 years. The coins, the pottery, the cities, the pottery, the ancient texts... all support this claim. Yes, other peoples have passed through, but there is no mistaking the fact that Jews have always had a continual presence in that land for over 3,000 years. This predates and certainly dwarfs any claims that other peoples in the regions may have. The ancient Philistines are extinct. Many other ancient peoples are extinct. They do not have the unbroken line to this date that the Jews have. And if you want to talk religion, fine.
Acause,God GAVE the Land of Israel to the Jewish People. And God does nothing by accident!

Mankind can change laws, opinions, ideas, countries and in general ignore history. They form their own opinions based on fleeting perceived facts and temporary circumstances.

Never in the history of mankind has a people had the wealth of historical fact and the mandate of God to establish their history, except for the Israelites.

Want to know why most of the world has always hated Jews?

If that Truth will ever sink in, you are on the right track and there is hope. That very truth is what causes a lot of people who would normally support a people that has been persecuted and scattered like the Jews, to turn their backs on them and fall into anti-semitism.

That in no way negates the truth.

I'm well aware that if I left out the part about God, I could garner more support for the Jewish people.

Still, one needn't go that far back to see the purposeful and deviant absurdity of it all. "And, one need only go back to May 25, 1946, to see such Lordly 'Slicksters' do their thing and/or TAKE CARE OF THEIR OWN first and foremost (as usual)".

Such was a time when Palestine (minus a little sliver of land on the coast called: Israel) and a nice chunk of both Syria and Saudi Arabia were renamed, and became The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. That a Saudi Prince Emir Abdullah was proclaimed The King of this brandy-new Sheikdom should have surprised no one.

After all, that The: "WORLD's GREATEST CON-ARTISTS" (re. The Saudis) do; "TAKE CARE OF THEIR OWN first and foremost (as usual)" is pretty-much common knowledge, and what else would one expect? Naturally, most of America's politicos don't see things just as clearly, and are perpetually waltzed-around by those deceptive and lethal con-artists.

Though, one must perversely admire The Saudis. "They" stole The Palestinians Land and got The Palestinians to love their occupiers (re. The Jordanians),...while simultaneously getting The Palestinians to hate The Jews on a little sliver of land called Israel and/or only nation in The Region wishing to live in peace.
It's no wonder I consider The Saudis The: "WORLD's GREATEST CON-ARTISTS"(re. 11/29/01 article). "They" unarguably are just.

Hell, even after our second and more lethal "Pearl Harbor" (re. "9/11"),...it's currently debatted by many Americans on TV, whether or not The Saudis are: "FRIENDS OR FOES".

The one thing I will give to the Arabs and especially the PLO. They sure have done a great job of PR the last 15 - 20 years. They have convinced their own and much of the world into believing they are rightful owners of the Land or Israel. In fact most of them are transplants from other Abrab nations in the region. Very few people in America know that. Most Jews are necomers also. But the fact is that there has been a Jewish (Hebrew is the correct term because Jew referrs only to the tribe of Judah, there are two other tribes which help make up most of the Hebrew people today, Benjaman, & Levi) presence in Israel since Joshua fought the battle of Jericho. I know a "Palestinian" who was born in Jerusalem and he personally told me that his family immigrated to Jerusalem from Damascus, Jordan shortly before he was born, but they call themselves Palestinian. He and I have discussed the facts and will tell you that vast majority of "Palestinians" have their roots in the surrounding Arab countries and have recently moved to Israel (the last 30 years or less). Now the Hebrews have also done the same, immigrating from all over the world, but the preception is that only the "Jews" have immigrated into Israel.

Hizbullah reports Palestinian children becoming active combatants

Eight-year-old Jihad Fakeh was shot and killed by Israeli troops operating in Nablus on Monday afternoon. Palestinian sources said that a group of children had hurled stones at an army jeep. The army said soldiers were responding to two Molotov cocktails thrown at troops. An investigative report published in Hizbullah's weekly journal in Lebanon exposed new evidence of Palestinian children's growing involvement in terrorist activities.

According to Palestinian reports, seven people, including two adults, were wounded, two of them seriously, by Israeli forces operating in Nablus's casbah area.

The international media reported, "Israeli soldiers fired at crowds of children throwing stones as they returned from school," and noted that the city was under an army-imposed curfew.

A military spokesman said the soldiers returned fire after two unidentified "explosive devices" as well as several firebombs were thrown at them as they sat in a jeep, the New York Times reported. At least one witness said that Fakeh was not among the stone throwers, and that he had been hit more than 100 meters from the army jeep.

Fakeh is not the first Palestinian child to be killed "during clashes" in the West Bank. On Friday, Mohammed Bilalo, 11, was killed during clashes between Palestinian gunmen and Israeli troops operating in Jenin. Palestinian doctors claimed Bilalo was killed by Israeli gunfire. The army issued a report confirming that soldiers had mistakenly shot and killed UNRWA official Iain John Hook, but made no mention of Bilalo's death. Palestinian sources said six additional children were wounded in other incidents in Jenin that day.

Palestinian children assume integral role in Intifada
In a report issued by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs at the beginning of October, Justin Weiner wrote that Palestinian "children and teenagers have assumed an integral role" in the Intifada. "Knowing that Israeli soldiers are ordered not to shoot live ammunition at children, and face disciplinary procedures or court martial for breaches, Palestinian snipers hide among youngsters or use them as human shields," the report said.

According to the report, Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat's deputy, Abu Mazen, admitted to a Kuwaiti newspaper in June that Palestinian children were being paid for pipe bombs thrown at Israeli soldiers. In addition, teenagers were being actively recruited to blow themselves up and become "martyrs" for the Palestinian cause. The Palestinian Journalists' Association warned its members that they would be punished if they photographed armed children, the report said.

Palestinian children have been at the forefront of demonstrations and funerals and have often been seen in combat uniforms, brandishing assault rifles and fake explosives belts. Palestinian television frequently broadcasts commercials calling on children to follow the path to martyrdom, Palestinian Media Watch reports. And Palestinian textbooks continue to glorify jihad and deny the possibility of coexistence with Israel, according to the Center for Monitoring the Impact of Peace.

Hizbullah presents evidence of children's role in violence
An investigative report published in the Hizbullah weekly journal recently exposed new evidence of Palestinian children's active involvement in terrorist activity earlier this year in the Jenin refugee camp. The children told the Hizbullah reporter of their involvement in the manufacturing of weaponry and of their participation in active warfare alongside armed terrorists.

A translation of the report was published on the Israel Defense Force's website. Hizbullah's reporter, Sami Magnins, said he saw children in the camp being trained to use explosive charges for the sole purpose of defying the 'Israeli enemy.' Fadi, a young resident, said that "the explosives are designed to blow their heads off; the next time they dare enter our camp will be over our dead bodies."

The children, taught from a very young age to throw stones at IDF soldiers, had begun to replace stones and rocks with hand grenades and small explosive charges. "We traded stones and rocks for hand grenades because the impact is that much stronger" explained Rami, a young resident of Jenin.

According to the Hizbullah report, one group of children assisted in the manufacturing of arms while a second group of children placed them strategically around the area as specified by a senior terrorist operative. A third group was instructed to set up ambushes in street corners carrying bags filled to the brim with explosives.

Muatsin, 16, used to kiss the grenades he carried on his back before throwing them at IDF soldiers. He would cry, "Allah, make this explosive as powerful as a ball of fire so that it burns the hearts of the Jews," Magnins reported.

Witnesses said that a young Palestinian aged 16 "threw at least 50 grenades towards IDF soldiers. The children were right alongside him, defending the camp; they succeeded in damaging five tanks and destroying one."

Not only has the Palestinian leadership encouraged their youth to take an active role in the violence, the Palestinian terrorists have purposely targeted Israeli children in their brutal attacks.

From the earliest days of the crisis, the Palestinian Authority, aware of the propaganda value to be gained, has actively promoted the participation of children in the anti-Israeli violence. Its schools, summer camps, mosques and official media have engaged in incitement specifically directed at young audiences. Furthermore, the PA has trained children in the use of weapons and has created an atmosphere that extols death in battle and encourages them to become suicide bombers.
The cynical use of children as pawns in the conflict begins in the Palestinian education system. Instead of educating children for peace, as Israel does, Palestinian textbooks (many of which have been recently published by the PA itself) openly teach hatred of Israel and Israelis.
Materials published and broadcast in the official Palestinian media reinforce these lessons, aiming much of its incitement at children, encouraging them to hate Israelis and take part in the violence. Children are urged by television advertisements to "drop your toys and take up arms" while Palestinian education television programming glorifies martyrdom in the struggle against Israel.
Youth groups and official Palestinian Authority summer camps teach children to be "holy warriors" in the Jihad (holy war) against Israel and the Jews, actually training young people in the use of firearms. Educational facilities are used to inspire hero-worship of suicide bombers, psychologically preparing Palestinian children to follow in their footsteps.

This incessant incitement has encouraged Palestinian children to take an increasingly active role. In the initial stages of the violence, Palestinian children were sent into the streets to throw rocks, firebombs, and grenades at Israeli soldiers. The PA even provided transportation, busing children to violent flashpoints far from their own neighborhoods. Armed Palestinian policemen and members of the Fatah militia, the Tanzim, often stood just behind this human shield of juvenile "martyrs" and directed gunfire at Israeli soldiers, knowing they can exploit the children's wounds for their propaganda purposes, should Israeli soldiers have to defend themselves. It is no surprise then that in the wake of violent clashes between Palestinian rioters and Israeli soldiers, children were among the casualties.
With the passage of time, as the Palestinian Authority intensified its incitement and expanded its use of children in the violence, young Palestinian boys and girls were increasingly exploited as suicide bombers. The age of suicide bombers is dropping by the day, and attacks carried out by teenagers have become the norm. Younger children, some no more than toddlers, have been used to provide cover for the transportation of weapons and explosives.
The Palestinian Authority's manipulation of children, which has been extensively documented by the media, constitutes a reprehensible violation of every international treaty and convention meant to protect children in situations of armed conflict. The PA's heinous exploitation of children is both profoundly immoral and fundamentally illegal.

It should also be remembered that hundreds of Israeli children have been killed and wounded in terrorist attacks. They were not just "incidental" victims of the violence, but the intended targets of terrorists. They have been deliberately targeted and killed by Palestinian sniper fire and in drive-by machine-gun ambushes.
Palestinian roadside bombs have maimed children in schoolbuses and Israeli youngsters were bludgeoned and stoned to death by terrorists while hiking near their homes. Suicide bombers have murdered dozens of Israel youths, choosing to strike at places where young people are known to congregate - discos, bus stops, fast food resturants and shopping malls.
Although the suffering of every child is tragic and regretful, a basic difference exists between the two sides. Most Palestinian children have been hurt due to their direct participation in violent confrontations, while a minority of the casualties were the unfortunate result of crossfire or return fire directed towards terrorist targets. By contrast, Israeli child victims were deliberately targeted by their terrorist attackers - the intended and preferred victim of the Palestinian bombers, snipers and gunmen.



Shalhevet Pass, age 10 months, was killed by a Palestinian sniper at the entrance to the Avraham Avinu neighborhood of the ancient Jewish community in Hebron. The Palestinian gunman stated he wanted to prove his skill as a sniper.
Shalhevet's mother who was holding her at the time, was slightly injured by fragments from her baby's skull.. Shalhevet was shot in the head from 100 or more yards away.

The name of the Palestinian childrens program was changed to Sesame "Stories."

When the cooperation between the two sides was first announced in the mid 1990's, many people had hopes it would foster understanding.

That was before the PLO got involved.

The most recent show shown on local Palestinian childrens TV is about a boy named Mohammad that goes into Israel and takes hostages at gunpoint in a mall.
His reason is, "The Jews don't like me."
