The Beverly Hillbillys was just about my favorite show growing up. They had a great show on E last month about his life and work, maybe they will show it again now.

Default He was also a vet.............
Buddy Ebsen served as a Coast Guard Lieutenant in WW2. In addition to his song and dance routines, his role as George Russel, sidekick of Davy Crockett, Jed Clampett and finally as a P.I co starring with Lee Meredith, he should also be remembered as a veteran who proudly served his country patroling the North Atlantic on the prowl for U-boats.
