Default 509 th bomb wing

They were the ones that transported the "flying sauser" from Roswell to Ohio in 1947.

Jim Hickman
did some research on the 509 th and at the end of his findings he wrote.
"While researching this article, I came across a curious thing, a Classified Flight Test shoulder patch from the 509th Bomb Group, with an alien pictured on it, along with the strange phrase in Latin, "Gustatus Similis Pullus" which translates into "Taste's like Chicken" Hmm?"

Anyone ever seen this "Classified Flight Test shoulder patch"?

Ron

39mto39g, Sir!

This was the funniest post I have read in a loooooong time! "Gustatus Similis Pullus".... He he he! I have to share your post with some friends!

Though I have never heard about this patch of the 509th BG before, I will try to see if I can find anything. If so, I will let you know "asap".

Less than 2 months until Scottsdale.... T G C Cacti!

Sincerely

39mto39g, Sir!

Found a little reading....

509th BW, 8th AF, Air Combat Command, USAF.

USAF official website for 509th BW (earlier BG), today based at Whitemann AFB, MO:

509th BW, USAF by "globalsecurity":

Non official USAF-sites, about the 509th, and the patch "Gustatus Similis Pullus"

What are you talking about?

Funny read. You'll have to take that up with Jim Hickman.
I didn't write any of it. and he just translated the meaning.
But then ,, What ever, Mam.

39mto39g, Sir!

"Scottsdale". I was referring to the Cacti reunion, later this upcomming summer. (2007 will evidently be in Philadelfia, PA, as I have been told by mr Birrow).

Yes, I understand that it was Jim Hickmans words. But still, Thank you for sharing his words. I am still laughing at "Tastas like chicken".

You wrote "Mam". This is however incorrect, as I am male.

39mto39g, Sir!

The 2006-reunion in Scottsdale, AZ, is for the whole Regiment. This, also including members of the 3rd Bn "Cacti Brown". (Korea). You can check by:

35th Inf Rgt -Regimental assn + 3rd Bn's own sep. website:
http://www.cacti35th.org
http://cacti335i.org

I am a bit surprised you did not know about the reunion. Of all the unit-assns I have come in contact with, the Cacti assn is By Far, the assn which is most active for its members! And I mean this, not only counting units within USARMY only, but compared to units from all branches. The Cacti assn does A Lot for its members, also including the Cacti's whom are currently serving, today.

If you contact mr John Lorts, he can add you in his e-mailings of the "Cacti Times" news magazine also. (Check by: http://www.cacti35th.org/officers.htm )

My best friend served in 1st platoon, A/1/35th "Cacti Green" from summer of 1968 to summer of 1969. Have bought flight-tickets for myself and my family, so that our families will celebrate this upcomming Christmas and new years together. By that time, it will be 3,5 years since we saw eachother last time.... Far to long!

39mto39g, Sir! Welcome Home Cacti!

Sincerely
A.B

I have had tghe Cacti news contact me in the past. I just haven't joined or gone to one of there reunions. Maybe someday.
Everytime I go to the 4ths sight and find the 35th I see and feel old friends being lost, so I just quit going there. The have a reunion every year in a different location, Im glade they can do that.
