“This partnership emphasizes how important Legacy Preservation is for both organizations and why working together means so much to both of us and the NSW community,” said Robin King, CEO of the Navy SEAL Foundation.

The Navy SEAL Foundation (NSF) and the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum (Museum) have announced a new partnership which ensures the continuation of their important legacy preservation initiatives for the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) community. This agreement formalizes the process for their continuing mutual support of legacy preservation programs for U.S. Navy SEALs and Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewmen (SWCC).

The agreement, approved by both organizations’ governing boards, clarifies the roles of NSF and the Museum in regards to their legacy preservation efforts as well as the organizations’ other programmatic support for NSW active-duty family members. The agreement reduces the duplication of programmatic efforts between the two organization and eliminates wasteful spending on overlapping services. It also includes a provision for a generous $140,000 yearly grant from NSF to the Museum, which will be used to support their important legacy preservation initiatives such as monuments and history enrichment activities.

The Museum, located in Fort Pierce, Florida, was founded in 1985 and is dedicated to preserving the history of U.S. Navy SEALs, including their predecessors--Naval Combat Demolition Units (NCDU) and the Underwater Demolition Teams (UDT). The Navy SEAL Foundation, founded in 2000, has included Legacy Preservation as one of its core areas of support since its inception.

“This partnership emphasizes how important Legacy Preservation is for both organizations and why working together means so much to both of us and the NSW community,” said Robin King, CEO of the Navy SEAL Foundation. “The new agreement allows both organizations to continue our efforts in a way that maximizes our impact for the community we serve.”

“The National Navy SEAL Museum is proud to partner with the Navy SEAL Foundation in support of the entire Naval Special Warfare community. Together we are stronger,” said Master Chief SEAL (ret) Rick Kaiser, Executive Director of the Museum.

About the Navy SEAL Foundation:
The Navy SEAL Foundation's mission is to provide immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) community and its families.

U.S. Navy SEALs have been in sustained combat for over 18 years, performing hazardous work in unforgiving environments at an unrelenting pace. SEALs are currently deployed in over 30+ countries across the globe and can spend up to 270 days each year in harm's way. The Navy SEAL Foundation stands behind these warriors and their families by providing a comprehensive set of programs specifically designed to improve health and welfare, build and enhance resiliency, empower and educate families and provide critical support during times of illness, injury or loss.

Like the community it serves, the Navy SEAL Foundation is a high performing organization committed to excellence. NSF has received seven consecutive 4-Star ratings from Charity Navigator. It is one of less than 70 charities from among more than 9,000 to have earned a perfect score of 100 for our financial health, accountability, and transparency, placing NSF in the top 1% of the rated charities. Ninety-four cents of every dollar donated goes directly to programs or is retained for future mission use.

The Navy SEAL Foundation is a 501c3 national non-profit charitable organization. TAX-ID 31-1728910. The Navy SEAL Foundation is a non-federal entity. It is not a part of the Department of Defense or any of its components, and it has no governmental status. For more information, please visit: https://www.navysealfoundation.org/

About the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum:
The National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum is the only museum dedicated solely to preserving the history of the U.S. Navy SEALs and their predecessors. Located in Fort Pierce, Florida, the Museum resides on the training grounds of the original Naval Combat Demolition Units (NCDU) and Underwater Demolition Teams (UDT), the Frogmen.

Built to honor the men who served with fortitude and dedication, the Navy UDT-SEAL Museum first opened its doors on Veterans Day in 1985. From humble beginnings, the facility has experienced tremendous growth, achieving national stature in 2007.

The main objective of the Museum remains the promotion of public education by providing the opportunity to explore the history of the Navy SEALs through interactive exhibits while honoring the fallen at the SEAL Memorial and caring for those warriors’ families through the Trident House Charities Program.
