Kate?s Take: No Vets? Vet

Thank you, Mac Owens ? a fellow Vietnam vet has vetted Senator John Kerry's disgraceful antiwar record. Kerry's surprising win in Iowa is widely attributed to the "veterans and firefighters" who provided his get-out-the vote ground troops and we're told that his New Hampshire rallies include large numbers of enthusiastic Vietnam veterans. If some Vietnam veterans are drawn to a brother in arms who shares their pride in service they have hitched up with the wrong guy. Owens reminds us that former Navy Lieutenant Kerry's slanderous case against his fellow veterans was informed by the phony experiences of phony Vietnam veterans.

The Vietnam veteran and firefighter I know best would both risk enemy fire and roaring flames to vote against John Kerry. So, I wondered, where are the fully informed veterans who remember Kerry's lies and smears? Here they are: "Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry". http://www.usvetdsp.com/jf_kerry.htm The website chronicles John Kerry's antiwar activism. Don't miss the cover of his book, The New Soldier, depicting scruffy protesters in fatigues with an upside-down American flag aping the famous Iwo Jima photograph. The slander he served up in his testimony http://www.usnewslink.com/johnkerryvietnam.htm on April 23, 1971, before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee should disqualify him from ever serving as Commander in Chief. Now, Senator Kerry invokes his Vietnam service in every second breath. Then, after accusing American forces of committing horrendous atrocities, he made a far different invocation: "We wish that a merciful God could wipe away our own memories of that service. . ."

Now, I'm on the hunt for Firefighters Against Kerry.

MORTARDUDE;
Some powerful stuff in the works here. 3 or 4 mos. ago I heard it said that this was going to be the nastiest, dirtiest, mud slinginest campane ever to hit the country. Well... there you go.
