GM Going Down the Eau de Toilette: Introducing ‘Cadillac Cologne’
Seriously, Government Motors is going to sell
“Cadillac, Fragrance for Men”:
It’s the luminous fresh scent from grapefruit and camomile and a mix of geranium, tarragon and cinnamon – plus sweet spice and incense.
Think of “Cadillac, the new fragrance for men.”
Sputtering General Motors Co., just out of a quick drive through bankruptcy court, will soon be using its iconic Cadillac brand to sell a line of fragrance for men.
Beauty Contact Inc., a Dubai-based cosmetic company and holder of the fragrance licence, said yesterday it will launch the Cadillac line in stores this fall to mark the brand’s 100th anniversary.
Dubai? Government Motors is even out-sourcing their frickin’ cologne now? But hey, nobody knows more about smelling good that Middle Easterners.
The first choice for a name for the cologne was “Geithner No. 5″ but that didn’t end up happening.
A bottle of the fragrance will be about $73, but it’ll be worth it every time a chick says “what’s that scent you’re wearing?” and you can offer a confident wink and say, “Government car.”
GM getting into the fragrance business only makes sense — Ed Whitacre knows as much about cologne
as he does about cars, so why shouldn’t they give it a shot? It’s only
your money.
