Roadmap To A Dead End?
The President?s ?Roadmap To Peace? has run afoul of a washed out bridge! And that bridge, has been sabotaged by those who had no intention of traveling upon the paved portion of the roadway to start with!
No plan, after all, is worth the paper that it is transcribed upon, unless that plan is workable! And all of the good intentions in the world, wouldn?t buy you an ounce of salt in an closed-down market, or an attentive ear amidst vested minds! Unlike ?Merlin the Magician?, waving a magic wand or wishing upon a star, will not (in itself) accomplish that which some of the parties to the deal refuse to take seriously. And today?s events prove that not only are the Palestinians hot under the collar, but that the State of Israel too, is lacking in genuine determination and intent! Blowing up one?s adversary, after all, is one helluva way to say I trust you, no matter who lights the fuse!? With President Bush reeling (if but a tad) over the continuing violence, as well as the lies and double-crosses that are slithering out of the Middle East, the end of the war in Iraq (if it has an end) has merely (to here) led to another stage of hostilities! One that, instead of vast armies, has seen the onset of more terrorism and sniping! Apparently, many of those who grinned from ear to ear at our entrance into Iraq, as it was in Somalia, are now hiding in sewers and striking out at will? These vermin then retreat back to their festering holes without much risk of taking any incoming! And to add yet more injury to insult, those whom we courted in the region seem unwilling or unable to put a stop to this agenda of violence! Even the Israelis, a people, who know full well the cruelties of war and terrorism, have acted contrary to the wishes of their biggest supporter (USA). And by attacking (even in justified retaliation) across the line, they have (like it or not) placed several roadblocks on ?Mr. Bush?s Roadmap To Peace!? Granted, it?s damned hard (if not impossible) to suffer bloody attacks against one?s own without striking back, and this is the nature of the beast (terrorism)! But again, this Roadmap To Peace has been tattered around the edges, not because the plan would not work, but rather because some had no intention of letting it work!? VERITAS

HC you don't need a road map to go around in a cirle and thats all they are doing over in the land of sand, anyway when they both sides are having peace talks all they are doing is reloading.

HARDCORE...
Don't have any answers my Friend, which apparently is no-big-deal since no one in authority seems to have any answers either.
Still, it would be nice if those calling-the-shots knew at least as little about occupations and/or Martial Law as I do. Also knowing some post WWII history couldn't hurt either. Regardless, the current Occupying Forces of both Liberated Afghanistan and Iraq must realize that any occupations there must automatically take longer than needed with both Germany and Japan, before returning any governance back to their respective peoples. No matter what politically-correct politicos want resolved quickly,...The Occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq simply cannot be done any faster than The Occupations of Germany and Japan, which both took about 7 years. Hell, haven't we been in comparatively peaceful Bosnia for about 10 years? Then too, defeated Germany didn't have didn't have various factions whom fanatically hated each others guts,...and would thinking nothing of killing The Others at the-drop-of-a-hat. Also, Japan didn't have War Lords vieing for power and control over their defeated country. Thusly, and no matter what America's all-caring Dems/Libs would like,...I must conclude that ANY PEOPLE requiring that everything be straightened-out and/or totally democratized in weeks or months in either Afghanistan or Iraq ARE FOOLS. Plus, and for political oneupsmanship purposes only, blaming The Republican/Conservative Administration for not resolving in weeks or months what actually takes many years under normal circumstances (Bosnia a good example),...IS TRULY QUITE ASININE. But then, and since nowadays both Bill & Hill have become the new Poster Family for family values, honesty, integrity and forthrightness in foreign affairs for The People,...maybe they have some answers for you? Though Buddy,...shame on you if believing ANYTHING from no doubt the record holders of either: "I don't recall" or leisure time spent in The Oval Office, or both. Neil |

GREAT POINTS RECON!
This puppy (Middle East) is dramatically different from Germany and/or Japan, in that the Axis Powers were united (almost) in nationalistic agenda! The Middle East on the other hand, is a bloody collage of ever waring factions, and today's ruling faction, may very well be tomorrow's also rans! Oh, and per chance, did I detect a little pre-2004 electioneering afoot? It is getting around that time, is it not!? VERITAS INFINITUM
