adopt a soldier ....
adoptasoldier@operationac.com

Now that the new troop rotation in Iraq is nearly complete, I am writing to
you for more help. You donated before with PayPal and we were able to
accomplish so much for the troops last year. We ended up raising just over
$855,000 and we sent over $633,000 worth of Air Conditioners, Heaters, new
combat boots, food stuffs, personal care items, and even christmas trees.
These all went to the soldiers of Operation Iraqi Freedom 1 and Operation
Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. We are a full fledge non-profit company
now and I am working hard to secure funding from corporate America, but it
is taking time and that is not what our troops in Iraq have. It is already
heating up over there and the requests for ACs are rolling in every day.

Because of the volume of emails we get, Peggy and I can't manage them all so
what we decided would be a good solution is to have you re-sign up on the
website again as you did before to Adopt-A-Soldier. Just go to
www.operationac.com and click on the blue star at the top where the text
says "Adopt A Soldier". I will email out the new soldiers to those who sign
up from 3/24/04 onward when I return from seeing my own son come back from
Iraq. He is due back in the United States on April 2nd. He has been
delayed in Kuwait with his unit.

We are working hard to get air conditioners out to our troops in support of
Operation Iraqi Freedom 2 and any donation you can make to us would be
greatly appreciated. Please even $5, $10 or $20 is fine. We were able to
do so much last summer for our troops and I would like to continue but we
operate on donations and people just are sick of hearing about the war and
have essentially stopped donating all together. All donations are tax
deductible. PayPal is the easiest for us but if you want to mail us a check
that would be really great. Checks should be made out to Operation AC, Inc.
because we are a non-profit company. Our address is 560 Peoples Plaza, Box
121, Newark, DE 19702

Thank you so much and I really hope you sign up to adopt a new soldier
because they really love that we help them this way. Yes - all
contributions to Operation AC, Inc. are tax deductible and we sure could use
any funding you can spare to help us get the air conditioners for the troops
who are there now for Operation Iraqi Freedom 2. Please don't think I'm
being pushy about this if you can't donate, just write your soldier if that
is all you can do. Do what you can we are not asking you to do anything you
don't want to do. The whole plan is for we Americans to support our
deployed troops. I don't make this about politics or policy, that is for
the talking heads in Washington DC to worry about. My job, as a mother, as
an American is to support my son and other fellow Americans who have sons
and daughters who serve in the US Military. It is just that simple - and it
works. We Americans are a team that is what makes us who we are.

Thank you very much,
Frankie Mayo,
President/founder and Mom of a soldier
Operation AC, Inc.
A Delaware non-profit company
