U.S. and Vietnamese officials are discussing the possibility of opening up direct flights between the two countries.
The two sides met March 12th for the 1st time in 2.5 yrs. The 15 m3mb34 American delegation is led by State Dept and incl. U.S. Dept of Transportation officials as well as reps from Northwest, United, American ans Continental airlines.
Vietnam's relations with the U.S. has broadened since a bilateral trade agreement effective Dec. 2001.
Tourism in Vietnam is on the rise and more outside travel by Vietnamese is expected to boost demand for passenger flts.
