Admiral William F. (BULL) Halsey uttered these words upon seeing the destruction at Pearl Harbor, from the deck of the Carrier Enterprise. The ?Big E? was returning from sea with our other carriers, and this probably saved them from destruction?

Our sub pens at Pearl were also saved by virtue of the Japanese decision not to initiate yet another attack - big mistake for the Boys From The Rising Sun....

Well, history has recorded that Bill Halsey had a controversial career, and was even almost court-martialed like many other warriors of that period, without whom, the war could have drug on for many more years, or worse yet - BEEN LOST!

Halsey, however, erred when it came to his observation that Japanese (after the War) would only be spoken in Hell! ?As usual, we won the war, but lost a goodly portion of the peace.?

And as far as our major enemies of that conflict, the Japanese and the Germans, they have gone on to cause us no end of economic grief in the last six decades!
