Seeking B-36 air crews
----- Forwarded Message -----
From: "Frederick Grothe" <serene007@bellsouth.net> Sent: Saturday, July 24, 2010 7:45:28 AM Subject: Comments/Suggestions Hi, I am trying to find any of the Airman that served with me at Ramey AFB, Puerto Rico (1953 to 1957) I was in in-flight bomb nav. mechanic on B-36 aircraft. One person I remember was Gordon Leo Kelson. Does any one remember him? My job was to arm the bomb, take care of the radar (AN APQ-24), and the N-1 autopilot system. We flew 24 hour missions trying to keep the peace during the cold war (I guess it worked) and generally made emergency landings at Nueaseur (sp?) Air Base in Morocco. If any of you were involved in that I would love to hear from you and soon! as I have bone cancer with a limited life expectancy. All the best, Fred Grothe (305) 778-5128 cell (305) 857-3436 home |
