New VA Provision - Long Overdue
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is adding a new provision to disability compensation and dependency and indemnity compensation (DIC) regulations. The new rule will allow certain disability claims associated with herbicide exposure to be awarded even if the same claims had been previously denied.
?Certain? disability claims associated with herbicide exposure are now to be compensated, and it only took the VA up to 35 (or more) years to act - WOW!! According to a piece that I just read, ?Our Magnificent Vietnam Veterans? those who are still plagued by murderous maladies brought about by herbicides like Agent Orange (I assume), but were (as usual) cast aside in the mad rush to cover a few ?Highly Placed Politi-Military Asses?, may now be eligible for long overdue compensation! Of course, it must be duly noted that many a brave soul that was brutalized by herbicides during that War, have been reduced to just that - their souls alone, as those still not being eaten up by related diseases are long dead! Granted (and it pains me to say this), the VA is finally doing the right thing, at least in this particular instance, and long belated at that!! But to rescue but a single pea from an abundant pod is conveniently selective and inherently wrong! Granted again, the victims of herbicides ?MUST? be recognized an compensated, especially those who?s health was literally and wantonly destroyed by those in whom they had placed their trust, in some cases nearly - two score of years ago! But for our government to stop there is akin, in my opinion, to raising one?s banner over but one repatriated island in the Pacific of 1944! To put it bluntly, many more ?Federally Orchestrated or Condoned Atrocities (experimentations)? must be addressed with honor, and not forty years after the last victim has expired, or the ire and memories of outrage have faded into but a vague recollection! In my opinion, those who, for whatever reason, covered up these domestic atrocities, will themselves ?Someday Burn in Hell (those not already there, that is)?, right alongside the original architects of these dastardly betrayals! Of course, it is in human nature not to be concerned about future consequences. ?Hell, a few in government adopted this mindset long ago!!? But time marches on, and someday we all are forced to stand tall before the Man (God) Himself, and when that day comes, arrogance, title, position wealth, lies and excuses will serve us not, no matter how highly situated we were in life! Again, it is a small step in the right direction to ?FINALLY? recognize some of the victims of herbicides, but it is, after all, ?ONLY A SINGLE STEP!? ?GET CRACKING? you who took it upon yourselves to experiment upon your own, as time is running short and damnation is forever! VERITAS
