We went to Kontum to help out some 173rd unit , Little did I know this would not be the end of our relationship with the 173. We were chinooked into the Kontum area and started to build bunkers. I don't believe there was a day in Oct that there wasn't contact. The NVA around that area were the toughest I had encountered sense I got to VN in June. 3am was there favorite time to attack and if it was raining they would attack harder. We got used to sleeping all day and staying up all night.
