Polar Bear Jump
It's time again to brave the frigid waters of upstate NY, and jump in for a reasonable cause. February 16, will be the 13th annual jump. The proceeds go to children in the area with serious medical issues. Check out the website: http://www.pbjump.com/ . There are a few nuts running around here that do it. This will be the third jump I've made. What a rush! Your body literally begins to shut down it's extremities, even in the twenty feet to the other end of the opening. My daughter turned 12 and is hugely excited to jump. I'll get some pics again this year. And George on Seinfeld had it right... shrinkage is real!

My daughter turned 12 last year and has wanted to do this since I jumped the first time. She got her chance. We jumped at about 1430 EST.

The ice is about 1' thick, the air temp was 15 deg., and the water temp was 28.

There were a total of 280 jumpers this year. The total raised was $55,800, for the children in need.
