Unhappy Presidential Elections

11-4-2023

(opinions)

‘Live in hope, and die in despair’, always seems to be the order of the day, at least as it concerns national elections! We all seem to aspire to bigger and far better things as we contemplate a national change in leadership, but lo and behold, and when elections do wind around again, it is usually just back to square number one as usual? Election promises are quickly broken, and ‘Our Nation’ is no damned better off than it was when any former schmuck packs his baggage and lumbers out of town – and so it is! We are not a nation that lives upon promises and expectations alone however - “So Where Is The Beef?”

Where did all of those grand promises go - the magnificent expectations, and the wonderful delusions? Or are we (consistently) a country that survives upon grand schemes and broken promises alone! “A nation of fairytales and pipe dreams, so to speak? Or could it be that we elect the grandest liars and tall-tail spinners to guide our destiny?

But does not our country merit far better than that? Do we not deserve truthful and competent leadership and direction? “And does not the blood, sweat, tears and toil” that have been expended over the past two and a half centuries count for nothing at all?!

We are “The United States of America People” and maybe it is about time that “Our Political Leadership” begins to realize the fact that we are still a nation “Of, By, and For The People Themselves”, and ‘not’ just a carnival of redundantly occurring errors that is doomed to eventual oblivion!!

And once again - let no man (or even opposing nation) ‘EVER’ forget that!!
