Heather Joy Rustic atmosphere right-off the carriage way Heather Joy With a location only a half a football field away from the Thetford military housing area and right off the A11 to Norwich, it is no wonder the Warrener Pub’s clientele is a mixture of American personal and their families, locals and travelers staying in the adjoining Premier Inn. This comfy and inviting tavern’s décor is simple and understated with muted cream vases, dull silver frames and knickknacks lining built-in rustic wood shelves. The restaurant style pub has several large dining areas with hardwood tables with a selection of varied seating from oversized plush chairs to fabric covered foot-stools. For the most part, the Warrener embodies a laid back family restaurant where you can wonder up to the bar to order or wait for the waitress to come to you and the silverware and napkins are delivered to your table in a small trough suggestive of any family farm. Whether you want to sit at the bar and enjoy a whispered conversation, watch the evening’s news and football game or observe pedestrians and cars out the large windows the pub has the right atmosphere for you. And the food’s pretty good too. The menu consists of many popular pub meals including traditional fish and chips, sausages and mash and gammon steak all for 6.99. The dinner menu also boosts a selection of salads, pastas, steaks, fajitas, sandwiches and light bites. Eat at the Warrener during the week before 6:30 p.m. and two dinner guest can order from their 2 dine out for 10 pounds menu. This menu includes a sampling of the main menu items and some additional choices including a ploughman’s, a four cheese macaroni and sausage and bean casserole. The restaurant also provides an extensive lunch menu that includes sandwiches, main grills and jacket potatoes. The bar has a full range of beers, ales, ciders and hard liquor as well as a small wine list for guests to enjoy. The Warrener Phone: 08708 506320 Hours: Open 7 a.m. - late for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Getting there: From A11 travel north following signs for Thetford at third roundabout, take first exit for city center onto Brandon Road. Take first right onto Maine Street. More... |
