Book report
Just finished a new book. It is titled "Odyssey of a Grunt - Rites of Passage" by Robert "Bullet" Peterson. He won his nickname from high school football and not some bravo from fake battlefields.
The book covers his 11 month hitch with 2nd Plt Bravo Company of the 1/14th Infantry in 1966 and 67. Good reading if anyone would like to borrow it just PM me your address and I will drop it in the mail to ya! Trav

I must have started it five times but never finished it yet. How can anyone remember so much? Holy cow. I always get into big arguments about even major events. "Pete" remembers what kinda Cs he packed in his ruck on any particular day. Musta kept one hell of a diary.
What I did read was well-written though. Some day I mean to finish it. |

At first I was thinking the same thing but toward the end he starts talking about his diary and how he encouarged all the new guys to keep one. Had an LT in the Gulf did the same thing. Wrote everything down, PX runs, who got mail, everything used to drive me crazy asking all those questions.
