?Well, our old nemesis (al-Qaeda) is at it again!? This time around, however, they tried to dredge up a few extra dinar ($$), by running hashish (drugs) through the Persian Gulf! But alas, they ran afoul of a destroyer, appropriately named the U.S.S. Decatur, the very same name, I might add, as one of our Navy?s most illustrious sea-dogs (Stephen Decatur, 1789-1820).

Decatur was the man who coined the phrase:

?Our country: In her intercourse with foreign nations, may she always be right; but our country, right or wrong!?

(Very appropriate!!)

Stephen Decatur traveled in some very elite (historical) naval company, and will always be remembered in the same breath as John Barry, John Paul Jones, David Porter, Oliver Hazard Perry, Thomas Macdonough and Isaac Hull!

During the war with Tripoli (1804), and in command of the ?Enterprise? (Move over Captain Kirk), Decatur captured an enemy vessel that he renamed the ?Intrepid!? And upon this ship, he led a picked crew into Tripoli Harbor (2/16/1804), and set fire to a frigate that the Tripoli Pirates had captured! ?This courageous move was applauded by even the English Admiral (Horatio Nelson)!!?

Getting back to the current U.S.S. Decatur, this fine vessel (a destroyer), just recently captured a dhow (Arab Sailing Ship), that was loaded down with some 54 (70 lb. bails) of Hash (Hashish), in the Straits of Hormuz, at the entrance to the Persian Gulf. The money from this ?Let?s Get Silly Haul? (some $8 to 10 Million Dollars Worth), was said to be heading for al-Qaeda and terrorism?!

Unfortunately for them (the bad-guys), however, this hash will end up being destroyed! Oh damned, and just when bin Laden needed something stronger than aspirin to take his mind off of the adjoining cell that he may soon be sharing with his bud Saddam! ?Ain?t nuthin? sacred!??
