Quality of Life Survey: Make your opinion count
Do you ever wonder if your opinion really matters? Last year's Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century Family and Quality of Life survey proved it does.

The survey received high-level interest with every comment reviewed by Col. Chad Manske, 100th Air Refueling Wing commander.

He led a team, including Chief Master Sgt. Chris Powell, 100th ARW command chief, and Col. David Doe, 100th Mission Support Group commander, to prioritize and take action on every item.

Just to name a few results of last year's survey, the base has seen the following improvements:

• Aligned customer service hours at Washington Square
• Commissary operating hours changed to Mondays through Fridays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• A "Healthy and Fit for Life" campaign that includes healthy option menus at all 100th Force Support Squadron eating facilities
• WiFi in RAF Mildenhall lodging
• Extended operating hours at West Row gate

This year's survey provides another opportunity for members of the community to make a difference. It only takes a few minutes to fill out the latest Mildenhall quality of life survey, which is open until Jan. 31. To complete the survey, click HERE.

Inputs and suggestions will receive high-level attention and have direct impact on the availability and quality of the services and amenities provided at RAF Mildenhall.

The Team Mildenhall leadership is dedicated to improving the quality of life for Airmen and their families, and are asking that everyone participates to help make a difference for all.

Adopt-A-School
The Adopt-A-School Program is designed to encourage units and squadrons to adopt-a-school and volunteer their time in building a positive role model relationship with the Department of Defense Dependents Schools community. Squadrons and units who adopt a specific school will be able to volunteer for various programs, events or activities within the school. For more information, contact the School Liaison Office at 226-5077/5078.

Adopt-A-Classroom
This program is designed for a smal group of people who wish to work with a classroom or in a specific venue of a school, such as volunteering for sports activities or school stores) Individuals can contact the School Liaison Office and indicate what teacher or activity the group would like to volunteer. The SLO will in turn make all the necessary arrangements to set up the opportunity between the desired classroom or activity. Finally, the SLO will re-engage with the small group to pass along contact information. This program allows small groups to become more involved with the children and allows the group to excel in a particular field rather than working on a large scale with the school. For more information, contact the SLO at 226-5077/5078.

Mentor Program at Lakenheath Elementary School
Lakenheath Elementary School is seeking adult volunteers to work one hour a week with third grade students in the Mentor Program. The program meets during lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Monday. Mentors work one-on-one with students to foster achievement at school by building a positive, caring relationship. Activities include eating lunch together, doing 10 to 15 minutes of academic review, and then enjoying some social time, such as playing board games. For more information contact Susan Reisch at 226-3721.
