Default Another Wannabe Exposed

I have exposed yet one more Wannabe who has made claims that he served two tours
in the US Army in Vietnam. Although he was not even born until 1951, he claims
to have been a US Army advisor in Vietnam! The following is the message ID
number and the quote which proves that he is a wannabe. He claimed that the US
Army never called any E-4s, Specialist Forth Class!

Absolutely NO ONE who was ever in the US Army during the Vietnam War could make
such a glaring error! This man is a phony!

Message-ID: <31d9a0c3.27267504@newshost.capecod.net>#1/1
there is NO SUCH THING as a "Specialist Fourth Class."

This wannabe's name is Lee R. Parsons who has been posting as "Outgoing V.
Incoming"

I thought you had exposed a deserter or something.. :-)
We see this all the time in disability claims at "ssa.gov" and we just
ignore it.... "on acount of my post traumatic stress syndrome..." blah blah
blah...
It means even less on a news group :-)

You made a spelling error by the way.... :-)

just kidding....

Not when Lee Parsons professes to own over 100 books about the Vietnam War and
can tell you anything you may want to know about MOSs, units, AOs, operations,
politics, etc, etc, etc. Why, he was even a member of the John Birch Society
some time ago. He was a minister and was active in the VFW also. He was an
advocate for POWs in Vietnam at one time and wrote two short stories that were
published about Vietnam, yet he doesn't even know what a Specialist Forth Class
is... Maybe someone tore that page out of his book, you think?

Being the vaunted AWL, you surely know there is no "Army's Joint
Chief."

The is a Chief of Staff of the Army.

And surely, being the all-knowing AWL, you're aware that there is NO
SUCH THING as a "Specialist Fourth Class."

There was a Specialist 4. that does not mean Fourth Class, as there
were no Classes. The 4 refers to grade.

Hidy, Phil. Hang around. I'm working on a sequel to the first stanzas of
Song of Coleman.

Remember?

Lee Parsons...? The Lee Parsons who posts here? Look, he most assuredly is
not a guy I'd buy a beer for, nor would he probable drink one with me, but
Mr. Exposingwannabes, you're gonna have to be a bit more specific .

"Although he was not even born until 1951, he claims
to have been a US Army advisor in Vietnam!"
Where did you see this ? I was born in '49 so he's not that much younger
than myself and I gotta tell you the V.A. believes I'm a Vietnam vet.

"He claimed that the US
Army never called any E-4s, Specialist Forth Class!"
I assume you meant 'fourth' (no sweat I ain't no college boy
either)...where did you see that quote?

"Absolutely NO ONE who was ever in the US Army during the Vietnam War could
make
such a glaring error!"
Many of the posters in this newsgroup claim to be dysfunctional to one
degree or another, hell some they claim they are receiving V.A. disability
with the meds, and they make 'glaring' errors on a regular basis. What else
you got? I mean we got one guy here who claims he can FOIA your DD214;
talk about "glaring error".

This isn't a 'dis' I'm just curious...you did post anonymously and you are
attacking a long standing member of this group. And if you're right...that
would be hysterical! - redvet

You dumb ass why cross post this to everyone. I could give a shit. BTW if he
was born in 51 that made him 18 in 69. There was SP4 in the Army. As far as
VietNam did you serve there?

Mike
Alt.military.retired taken out so they don't have to put up with you.

Well, now. YOU may have called SP4's Specialist Fourth Class, but the
official designation was Specialist 4, commonly known as "Spec 4". The rank
structure created in 1955 under AR 615-15 created the grades of Specialist
1st Class (E6), Specialist 2nd Class (E5) and Specialist 3rd Class (E4).

In 1958, the pay grades of E8 and E9 were added and the Specialist grades
were designated as follows:

Specialist 4 (E4) Spec 4
Specialist 5 (E5) Spec 5
Specialist 6 (E6) Spec 6
Specialist 7 (E7) Spec 7
Specialist 8 (E8) Spec 8
Specialist 9 (E9) Spec 9

The grades Spec 8 and 9 were never used extensively and were dropped in
1965. In 1978 Spec 7 was discontinued and personnel holding that grade were
given a lateral promotion to Sergeant First Class. Finally, the grades of
Spec 5 and 6 were dropped in 1985.

I enlisted in the Army in July, 1961 and was a Spec 4, Spec 5, Staff
Sergeant, WO1, CW2, 2LT, 1LT and Captain and never heard of Spec 4's being
referred to as Specialist 4th Class.

I could be mistaken, but I doubt it.
