Turn Signals

To remove them would cause much more harm than good. Any type of help we can get from other drivers and their intent will definitely bring about more safety. I live 1/2 block from a four way stop. We occassionally have a fender bender but we've only had one major accident and that was because someone ran a stop sign. If everyone comes to a stop at a four way stop even if there is confusion as to who is to go first if an accident occurrs it usually is a minor fender bender because its hard to develop much speed in 50 or 60 feet. Yes, Ron you are correct there are foolish drivers out there that occassionally do stupid things but to make things worse by eliminating a real help like the front turn signals would not be a wise decision under any circumstance.

They shold make turnsignals on cars loud and highly visible on the INSIDE for the driver.
One of the faults of my Aerostar is you can hardly see or hear the turnsignals, When changing lanes the signals don't always turn off when the lane change is finished, leaving the signals on. Ive gotten to the point where I keep my finger on the turn signal lever throughout the whole maneouvre or I can go on with the turn signal blinking for miles.

When I first started looking for land in Oregon, back in 2004, I was pulled over for not keeping my turn signal on long enough. He was following me close and I turned on my blinker and changed lanes. He said I didn't go 100' before changing lanes, estimated at 3 blinks. I aked him if he saw the blinker on--he said yes--just not far enough.
I told him that since he just wanted to look through my car, go ahead. He did--then never even issued me a ticket, just a warning.
Expect this if youre cruising OR with out of state plates. One more thing: its the heaviest radar-trappped state I ever saw

Yep that will get you stopped. I have traveled all over Oregon never been stopped yet. Of course I was raised in Oregon and that makes me a native Oregonian, their radar sensors know a real native when they detect them.

Either that or I have an honest face, or I have my wife with me and she just looks too sweet to stop.

Don't have diddly to do with turn signals but I've taught all my kids that whenever you meet someone for the first time that you owe them two things.
The absolute first thing that you owe them is courtesy and you can catagorize a front turn signal as a courtesy, I guess.
The second thing you owe them is respect.
You can always loose respect but you should be courteous in letting your aquaintance know why they have lost your respect and then get as far away from the dips....it as you can.

Get a job you are spending too much time on things that are trival. Most of this thread: turn signals in front and courtesy at four way stops is so trival that it sounds like a bunch old geezers with no life gossipping at the local watering hole.
