Memorial Day
Thinking of you all - and to those who've served - and to those who've died to provide us with our way of life - I salute you all. Reflections of those lost weigh heavily upon us all and this is the time we reflect on the good times we shared in another time. The last few days I've been dealing with some emotions of which I can't let loose. These feelings are like loosing a member of your family. My wife knows to leave me alone during these moments and she finds me in the garage just staring off into - only what she see's is thin air - and yet even as I write this my thoughts are elsewhere.
We are all getting older each year and as the time marches on it seems we are nearing the time of reunion. I want to meet them all again in the here after. To pay my respects one on one - to laugh about the things we did on duty. Many good ones are taken way before their time. The script is written the day we are born. My very best to all you who I've come to know - if only through the Patriot Files. I thank you for all your words of wisdom and service to our country.

Tough holiday for me to Boats. Remembering and honoring those of us that have given all , for us still here , on the field of battle and with their everyday lives that impacted us while they were here with us but now gone. I think of Andy , Tiny and Frank just about every day as well as those that fell so many years ago in battle protecting their brothers and their country. I try to do the right thing with my life because of their example but I also know they must be laughing at some of the dumb stuff I get into. I'll be gone someday but my grandson will learn about the guys in 2nd Platoon C Troop 3/5th Cavalry as well as a bunch of people that have been on the tip of the spear , before I go. Scouts Out !!
