We were talking to our son about going down to the VFW this weekend and having a drink to each family member who is/has served.
Start with 2 sons and a daughter in law, go to Darrel and his brother, then his Dad and mine, my Mother's brothers and his Mother's brother and sister in law. That's 15 and we just don't drink that much any more, never mind going back another generation. Guess we'll have to do our serious drinking here. Coors for Darrel and rum and coke forChris and me. I never served. I'm only support (I'm just a girl). My best friend Michael says, his dog Viking, got a silver star... but they awarded it to Michael. He was a Marine dog handler ( he always went point for me too). Michael left us April 15, 2000. On traditional Memorial Day, I am going to honour his resting place for the first time... The rest of the case is for Michael.
