Ball park Figure, How much did Christmas cheer set you back this season? Me and the wife gave each other $200. to spend on ourselves and thats it. I have mine in my checking account, the wife bought war paint or whatever. Ron |

My wife and I only use a credit card for special things that come up such as a car repair or an appliance break-down, etc. We never use them for gifts and such. We have Xmas club accounts at the bank and save all year for the holiday spending. Plus my wife might see something on sale for someone at any given time of the year, buy it, and wrap it up. The only problem is that she might forget what she bought for whom and end up unwrapping the package!

Ron, my wife shops all year. She buys the kids presents all year long. By Dec she's got everything already. She does this for Birthdays and also has emergency gifts should one of the daughters forget to get a gift.
She learned this from her Mother (God Bless Her Soul). My wife will buy things only when they go on SALE! She's fruggle and she is very good with the money. Not me I haven't seen a pay check in over 30 years. I get an allowance each week. We've been married 40 years this July and its worked for us all these years. If I need more money I get a side job and she doesn't care. My wife hasn't worked but 1.5 years when we first got married. So I've covered all the household bills on a single income all these years. I take that back I did work two full time jobs for about 3 years but got real sick and the Doctor said what do you do for a living. I told him a he said if you don't quit one of these jobs we will bury you in about three months. I did so we have to live within our means. Todays kids (mine included) don't seem to know how to do that and they are always broke or filing bankruptcy. I did that once to so I know the pains of overspending and not saving for a rainy day.
