Unhappy Tornadoes

We've got 11 counties under tornado warning at the moment. Reports of 3-4 touchdowns so far with damage, injuries, and people trapped in houses and one school. Mostly running North of us so far.

Default Hal...

Just recently got e-mail from my
good buddy Frank, in Goodlettsville, TN.
Anywhere near you?

Stated: "Tremendous damage, hopefully no deaths".

Whatever, Good Luck to You'all.

Neil

Doc,

Looks like Nashville - Dickson County - Goodlettsville hit hard, with more coming tonight.

My fervent wishes for the best going out to all the fine folks in the Volunteer State during this ordeal.

Keep us updated, will you, Doc?

Ashland City also hard hit, and Goodletsville.
10 comfirmed dead in two counties so far.
Much damage from golfball to baseball sized hail from many areas.
We have been warned that some of the strongest storms are likely yet to come which does not make me happy as the whole system has slid Southeast which puts us squarely in the bullseye within the next hour or so.

They just issued (another) tornado warning for here. Due here in about 20 min.. Getin kinda noisey outside.

Guess I'd best go check on the motorcycle.

Later (Ihope)

Well, hadn't heard but went outside and all was still, except for the light show to the northeast.

Well...looks like I'm still here. My little corner of the State seems to have pretty much dodged the bullet. One sighting reported about 6-8 miles away but I don't think it touched down. Some power is out in the general area (ours was out very briefly).

Murfreesboro (about 30-35 miles down the road) got hit pretty hard earlier in the day but I don't think anyone was killed.

They say that we remain under a watch until 0400, but things aren't looking too bad at the moment-just reg. t'storms.

Will probably be sometime tomorrow before we really have a good idea just who got hit and how hard.

Doc. Fred-
You might wanna sit up an take a real close look around you 'long about 0300-0400.

You boys down in Atlanta might be looking at something sometime tomorrow.

Been thinking of you Tennessee boys for the last several days as I hear about the storms and rising death toll. Do you have storm cellars, or whatever? Golf ball to baseball sized hail?! Do you have steel pots for the whole family? What's next? Raining frogs and hordes of locust? You couldn't get me to live in tornado or hurricane regions if you threatened my life. I'll take my chances in earthquake country anytime.

Doc Hal, I had a CO for awhile in the 101st from Murfreesboro; 1st Lt. Larry Earls. He was KIA in the early morning hours of 2JAN67 somewhere around Kontum when we were almost over-run. He'd only been with us for 2-3mos., and he was a pretty good guy. He was going to be a good line officer. I hope he's still thought of by someone there.

The storm is coming through Gwinnett County as I write.

The power is off here, and the only light in the house is my laptop screen...

...But my wireless connection is still good!
