Lost Within The Fog Of Time

I can not help but wonder what was going through the minds of those who had the chance to meet, and to talk to, people like George Washington, Clara Barton, and even the magnificent Abraham Lincoln?

What an honor it must have been, or could it be that “These Illustrious Luminaries of History” were taken for granted, many of their deeds dismissed, and their presence generally overlooked at the time by those who learn nothing from history, even when it is being written at that very moment- “What Fools We Mortals Be!”

So why is it that we tend to idolize those who truly shine, only after the fact, and ignore them and their deeds while the fluid of life still courses through their veins? “Why not give these national treasures their flowers while the live, instead of consigning their spirits to the fog of time!”
