Nascar
Martinsville has become a CM track and today proved it. Rick Hendricks won his first Winston cup race here with Bodine (Rick was in Church at the time) and 25 year later he wins again, seems like a big stroke of luck to anyone?
The thing I noticed about the race was the stands. only 2/3 full, And I'm being generous, I don't think I ever watched a Winston/Sprint cup race that the stands were not full. I was at the first race in Texas just north of Fort Worth were the 99 owned by Jack Roush won the race. Kurt Bush was the driver and the sponsor was Excide Batteries. That seating is right at 300,000 and they were selling standing room only seats, I never seen so many people in one spot before. I don't remember the name of that little town the track is actually in but for a few hours it became the 4th or maybe 5th largest city in Texas. Next week when NASCAR roils into Fort Worth and plants it's flag, I'm guessing that at $85.00 for the cheep seats there will be standing room only. But that track doesn't favor anyone, so everyone has a equal chance to win. The question , I guess if there is one, what will Nascar give to the GM boys to make them run faster? And I hope that the best two drivers out there, Kyle Bush and Carl Edwards, will be 1-2 at the last 10 laps. . Oh yea, Mark Martin started with Roush when Jack only had one team, The #6, He needs to stop. We'll see, see you at "Americas Track" (Dallas Cowboys saying" Ron |
