The main trails through the park are wide and paved, making it accessible to just about anyone.

That's because most of the trees grow in a creek bottom that is not very steep.

Redwood Creek runs through a canyon with steep sides to it, keeping it shaded. Like most of the Coastal Range, these mountains are often shrouded in fog, making it ideal for many other vegetation, including ferns.

There are four bridges that allows visitors to cross Redwood Creek from one side to the other.

So if you ever visit San Francisco and want to get away from the glitzy tourism of Chinatown, or the crowds of Fisherman's Wharf, take a trip across the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods at the base of Mt. Tamalpais. Or better yet, get ahold of me and I'll take you there myself. Also, I know San Francisco like the back of my hand and love to show it off to friends.

TC
Looks like A nice place, You guys are dressed warm, Is it cold there in September?
Those first set of trees are huge. Wide, accessable ,paved trails in California, who would have thought it?
If I ever get to SF I will sure look you up.

It's the bay are Ron it gets a little chilly in the a.m.'s there. I live about 80 miles from Frisco Kid here in Elk Grove CA. Have been to San Francisco a few times. I like the embarkadero (Spelling). A lot of shops and nice places to eat.

I did some work for SMUD at the geothermal site not far too far from the Golden Gate. Went through the wine valley areas to get up there. Nice area.

When I visted my sister-in-law in San Francisco a few years ago and I met you and James, she and I and her toddler went to Muir Woods. What a wonderful, magical time ! I enjoyed seeing the pics again.

May God Bless,

Larry
